Does the Delta Pro Ultra live up to EcoFlow’s claims?
EcoFlow makes some pretty bold statements about the Delta Pro Ultra. Things like "the industry's fastest charging speeds" and "a world where power outages go unnoticed".
But talk is cheap. You need to know if the Delta Pro Ultra is something that you and your family can rely on. Something that holds up outside of the test labs.
Below are the results of real world tests to prove whether or not the Delta Pro Ultra lives up to its name (and the claims EcoFlow has made for it).
EcoFlow’s Claim |
The Test |
Result |
6144 Wh AC Capacity |
The battery was drained with an electricity meter |
This is 91% of the rated capacity, which is much higher than normal test results. The standard expectation is typically 85% of a manufacturer’s rating. |
6144 Wh DC Capacity |
Battery drainers were used to run out the DC output. After 19 hours of pulling power, it finally went to zero. It measured a total usable DC capacity of 4936 Wh. |
This is 80.3% of EcoFlow’s rated capacity. It doesn’t meet the standard expectation of 85%, but it’s not far off. |
7200W Output |
The Ultra was connected to space heaters, heat guns, and fans through Then the load was pushed up to 7800W. |
When the 7200W load was split between the 120V and 240V outputs, there was no problem keeping everything running. It took a huge 7800W before a reset of the unit was triggered. |
Fast Charge |
The Delta Pro Ultra was plugged into an AC outlet to charge |
It fully charged in under 2 hours while running a heater plugged into the output at the same time. |
0 dB |
Freezers, fridges, an oven, microwave, fans, and more Then a 2-ton air conditioner and a clothes dryer were connected |
With everything plugged in, the fans were never heard turning on and it was completely silent. The sound meter in the room measured 43 dB, which was the level of the room noise before running the Ultra. |
0 ms |
The online UPS was tested with an oscillator and |
The switch from grid power to the Delta Pro Ultra was instantaneous. The computer stayed on and the oscillator measured 0-ms of downtime. You really might not even notice that the power went out. |
1 Hour of Solar |
A 1000W array was connected to the low PV port and |
They achieved 100% charge in less than 3 hours. There was also no problem leaving the panels connected 24hrs/day. EcoFlow’s claim is actually for when you have 3 inverters connected, |
How long can the Delta Pro Ultra power your house?
To understand exactly how much power you can get out of one EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra Battery + Inverter, it was hooked up to a 240V home transfer switch to power 10 circuits including:
- Main Kitchen Fridge
- Microwave
- TV
- Lights in Multiple Bedrooms and Bathrooms
- Basement Fridge
- Gas Fireplace
- Internet Modem
- Router
- Even Outdoor Christmas Lights!
You probably wouldn't keep all these things plugged in during a real emergency, but it was worth seeing how far the Ultra could be pushed. The EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra ran this entire house for 13.5 hours during its mock power outage.
For the whole simulation, the Delta Pro Ultra had a steady output of 400-500 watts (with some spikes when the microwave ran or the fireplace turned on). This real-world scenario is a good example of how well the Delta Pro Ultra provides steady backup power for a diverse range of home circuits.
The mock outage proved that a single unit of the EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra could power your whole house for about 13.5 hours. More than long enough to keep your home in all its modern comforts throughout most power outages and blackouts.

EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra vs. EcoFlow Delta Pro
So the Delta Pro Ultra lives up to the claims that EcoFlow made for it. Great!
But now you might be asking yourself- "do I really need that much power?"
Even the previous Delta Pro packs a big punch for a portable power station.
Before you pull the trigger on either of these models, consider some of the upgrades EcoFlow built in to improve on the Delta Pro.
One improvement comes with cable management. If this sounds unimportant– think again. Proper cable management prevents damage and lets your power station to run at its best. Neat and well-organized cables are essential to your home's safety. Otherwise they become a fire hazard and a danger to accessibility.
The Delta Pro had an impressive expandable capacity, but connecting them together looks less than nice.
The Ultra's new design is much more appealing. Featuring compact cables and space-saving stacking.
And while we like the way the new Delta Pro Ultra looks stacked up to power a house, we're not convinced you can still call this a "portable" power station. The combined weight of the Ultra battery and inverter is almost 200 lbs. That's a lot for one person to handle on their own. Not impossible! But a lot. The Delta Pro weighs 99 lbs, but comes with large wheels and a retractable handle that makes it easier to take on the road.
Of course, the biggest complaint users had about the Delta Pro was the loud charging and fan noise that happened while running the unit. Those cries did not go unnoticed. EcoFlow reimagined the cooling system of the new Delta Pro Ultra so that it's completely silent when you pull up to 2000W.
When this was put to the test, it blew all expectations out of the water. Enough appliances were plugged in to pull 5600W of power and it was STILL completely silent. The loudness of the EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra was measured with a sound meter, which picked up 43 dB (the noise level of the room before the unit was turned on).
We're always happy to see improvements like this because it means the brand takes the feedback from their users seriously.
Review: Is the EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra worth it?
If you're looking for long-term power security and total home backup, the EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra is worth every penny. Especially considering the amount of power you get vs the cost of the unit. Which, if you calculate it, comes to $0.78 per Wh. That's very competitive compared to other power stations in the market.
We sorted through many real-world tests to come to this conclusion. From a simulated power outage where it ran an entire house for 13.5 hours. To powering up a circular saw and compressor at the same time (even with their high surge).
What makes the EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra stand out is its consistent performance. It was silent during all the tests, even when it was pushed to the limit to discover just how much output it could handle before a reset (7800W).
Final Thoughts
We were pleased to see the Delta Pro Ultra stands up to nearly every claim EcoFlow made for it, even surpassing many of our expectations in some of the tests. With its increased solar capacity, long-term power storage and silent backup, the Delta Pro Ultra is a serious step up from the Delta Pro.
Whether you're preparing for unexpected outages or aiming for off-grid living, we discovered that the EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra isn't just a power backup – it's a power performer.
What is the EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 2 and Do You Need It?
The EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 2 is a sub-panel designed for seamless power backup and enhanced energy management and savings. It acts as the central brain of your entire home backup system. You don't NEED the Smart Home Panel 2 to connect the EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra to your house, but it provides you with more control, protection, and savings.
It's great insurance against power outages because the automatic switchover keeps your house running without a hiccup. No more fumbling in the dark or worrying about spoiled food when the power goes out – the Smart Home Panel 2 has you covered.
Its Smart Energy Management system predicts outages through hourly weather checks and customizes your energy usage to get you the best time-of-use rates that take advantage of solar energy.
If you want "power that never ends", the Smart Home Panel 2 lets you connect up to 3 plug-and-play Delta Pro Ultra inverters and 15 stackable 6kWh batteries. That's enough power to keep a normal household running for over a month on one charge.
And while you can use your Delta Pro Ultra by connecting it through your home transfer switch or by powering appliances directly through the power station, the SHP 2 gives you more control and flexibility, acting as the commanding force behind your power system.
