FAQ

How many solar panels can be used simultaneously with DELTA Max?

The number of solar panels that can be connected depends on their total voltage and watts. As long as the solar panels use an MC4 connector and their voltage and current fall within the 11-100V, 13A maximum range, multiple panels can be used at once.

What's the maximum input capacity for DELTA Max?

When charging DELTA Max alongside its extra battery, you can achieve a maximum charging speed of 3600W by using any two methods among AC, solar, and the Smart Generator. For a single DELTA Max unit, you can recharge it using standard wall outlets (with a maximum of 1800W), or combine AC and solar charging for a maximum charging speed of 2000W.

How does the Emergency Power Supply (EPS) function, and what's its speed?

While your portable power station is connected to the wall, any devices plugged into it draw power from the grid, not the battery. In the event of a blackout or when the grid power stops, the station seamlessly switches to battery power within just 30 milliseconds.

What's the DELTA Max's water-resistance rating?

The DELTA Max isn't water-resistant, so it's important to keep it away from liquids. However, you can opt for additional protection by purchasing the DELTA Max case for water-resistant shielding. The bundle solar panels are all weatherproof and waterproof rated.

Do portable solar panels work?

Portable solar panels are a highly effective, eco-friendly, and renewable method to charge a portable power station. EcoFlow 400W portable solar panels have higher wattage compared to standard ones and boast greater efficiency, thanks to their monocrystalline cells. You can set up to three 400W portable solar panels and pair them with a DELTA Pro portable power station, providing an input of 1600W. Moreover, EcoFlow portable power stations use an MPPT algorithm to ensure a consistent energy supply. Unlike fixed solar panels, portable ones can be easily moved and adjusted according to the sun's position in the sky.

What are the best solar panels for camping or RV trips?

The top choice for camping and adventure are solar panels that are portable, fold easily, and weigh less. All the the EcoFlow bundle solar panels meet these conditions. Connect one with a portable power station and link up to 4 panels together for instant, clean, and renewable power.

How much power can the 220W solar panel generate in regular conditions?

It mainly depends on the weather. Generally, on a clear, cloudless day when sunlight hits the panel at a 90° angle, it typically produces between 160W and 180W of power. Under test conditions, the current light levels usually range between 74.3W–83.6W/ft2, with a panel temperature of 122°F. The panel's nominal power ratings are based on 92.9W/ft2 in AM1.5 conditions, with a panel temperature of 77°F under test conditions. Power outputs near nominal values were typically observed during midday in the winter sun.

Can I link the 110W and 220W solar panels in series together?

You can, but it's not advisable. Even though the voltages of both panels match, their current ratings differ. Connecting them in series limits the current to that of the 110W panel, preventing the full potential of the 220W panel from being utilized. This results in a situation where 1+2 is less than 3. If you plan to connect multiple panels in series, it's recommended to use panels of the same size.

What conditions are best for the EcoFlow Solar Panels?

For better efficiency, place the EcoFlow Solar Panels in direct sunlight, positioned at a right angle to the sunlight, and ensure the panels are free from obstructions.

    Been said already, but...

There's not much I can say that hasn't already been covered about Ecoflow's Delta Max. There are plenty of reviews out there on this solar generator. I was torn between the Delta Pro and Max, but in the end, the Max suited my needs better. The main unit weighs about 50 lbs and is easy to shift around. I got an extra battery for those times I need more capacity.

The talk about the generator not having a LifePO4 battery has been discussed a lot. I get how it could be a concern if you're off-grid and charging/discharging daily, but for most, 800 cycles is plenty. Charge it once a week, it lasts 16 years; twice a week, 8 years—pretty long. Technology's racing ahead, so in a few years, we might have lighter, higher-capacity batteries when replacements are due. Even after 800 cycles, the Delta Max won't just conk out; the cycles might get shorter. So, in my opinion, not having a LifePO4 battery isn't a biggie, given how well this unit is designed.

Saw a YouTube comparison, likening Ecoflow to the Apple of solar generators, with Bluetti as the Samsung trying too many features that don't mesh, and Goal Zero as the BlackBerry—falling behind in tech and adaptability. I'm really pleased with my Delta Max. Plus, buying from this company was awesome. Thanks!

    Hands down great purchase

I dedicated months to researching solar generators, going back and forth until it nearly drove me mad. But I was determined to get it right from the get-go, and Ecoflow was the clear winner. From quality to capacities and charge rates, it had it all. I'm still putting together my setup, starting with 2 Delta Max 2000s and 4 160 solar panels. Planning to add a couple of those expandable batteries eventually.

One overnight test on a full battery with my 21 cubic foot fridge left me stunned—it still had 47% charge after 12 hours! If only I'd found these gems 18 months earlier. I ended up getting a dual fuel generator back then, which now feels obsolete. Sure, the solar units can't power the A/C, but once bought, there are no further costs! I hate the idea of selling the gas generator.

It charges up fully in about 3 hours and can run a fridge for up to 36 hours. Tested it with lights, Wi-Fi, and various electronics for 5 hours, and it only drained to 40%. Solar panels do the job well—charging a good 10-15% an hour in sunlight, though it's slower and needs sunlight.

It's a bit heavy but manageable to carry. Perfect for short power interruptions or portable power needs. Personally, I love having it around (I'm that way with most things I own), even though I've only used it once to drill some holes. Ecoflow, hands down, the best I've ever researched. 100% satisfied with the purchase and highly recommend it.

    Very Happy

With the Delta Max, our week-long camping trips are a breeze. Running a small tent fan, charging five cell phones, and keeping several LED lights on hardly make a dent in this battery. We haven't tried winter camping, so I can't vouch for its performance with a heater. Initially, I considered going for one of the smaller river systems for camping and choosing the Delta Pro for home use, but we settled on the Detla Max for its versatility. It surpasses expectations during camping trips and does a commendable job during power outages at home. While I haven't run a full test, I'm confident that with the 220 W portable solar panel and a small gas generator, I'll never run out of power. Charging to 80% takes less than an hour from a house outlet and around 2 hours using my small generator. Definitely worth the investment.

    Would Buy Again

I'm eyeing another one along with an extra battery for upstairs. L&C made this kit incredibly user-friendly—plug and play all the way. And if you hit a snag, there's a video guide for every step. I only needed to double-check a couple of things—setting up the brackets initially and then sorting out the cable hookup. Some folks reckon this generator is noisy, but personally, I don't find it bothersome. It's a straightforward and pleasant kit. Being a 60-year-old and not in the best health, I managed to set it all up on my own. I'd definitely recommend it.

I got this unit and decided to put it through some tests. First off, I charged it on the "slow" setting, which surprisingly took only an hour and a half to top up. It arrived with an 80% charge, so it didn't need much.

Next, I tested its capacity to charge my electric car. It seemed to offer about 1.5 hours of charging. Admittedly, that's not enough to fully juice up the car battery, but it could get me to a nearby charging station or a place with an AC outlet.

Then, I attempted to power a portable air cooling unit, but it kept tripping the breaker on the battery bank. My car and the AC unit both use about 1.5 kW, yet I couldn't even get the AC unit lights to come on. It's a puzzling issue that shouldn't be occurring.

Lastly, I checked the solar panel's charging power. Disappointingly, it only provided around 50 watts. If you plan to solely charge the unit using the panels, be ready to wait over a week for a full charge, even with additional backup charging. The solar panel seems insufficient, barely capable of charging more than a switched-off cellphone. It's not dependable, especially considering it's under the blazing sun.

My final take? It's a decent device, but it's hefty, weighing over 60 pounds/28 kilograms. Expect some heavy lifting when you need to move it around.
